Abby Calvert is a Health Educator at Augusta Health in the Community Outreach and Partnerships department. One focus of her role is tackling food insecurity work. She acts as the Program Coordinator of the Augusta Health Food Pantry that serves patients and community members. Another focus is facilitating the Community Health Needs Assessment team that oversees the Mental Health and Substance Use Initiatives for the hospital. Some of this work includes REVIVE! Narcan training, increasing mental health support for the underserved elderly population, and sitting on the local Harm Reduction outreach network team. Prior to being a Health Educator, she worked as a Community Health Worker at Augusta Health, providing nutrition education and support to severe diabetic patients, as well as implementing the Food Pantry program.
Abby gained her Bachelor's Degree from James Madison University in Public Health Education. She then acquired her Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) certification in 2021.
Outside of her public health work, Abby enjoys spending time with family and her pets, enjoying time outside, and reading.
