Dr. Iuorno earned his Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science from Hamilton College in 1990. He received his DDS from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1994 and was elected to the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society. After dental school, Dr. Iuorno completed a 1-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at the Eastman Dental Center in Rochester, New York. He moved to Richmond in 1995 and completed a unique combination of residencies at Virginia Commonwealth University, earning certification in both Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Orthodontics, making him uniquely qualified to treat complex cases. He received his Master of Science in Orthodontics in 2002. He currently holds several leadership positions in dentistry through the Virginia Dental Association, the Virginia Dental Services Corporation, the Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, the Virginia Orthodontic Education and Research Foundation, Virginia Health Catalyst and Delta Dental of Virginia. Outside dentistry, Dr. Iuorno is a certified yogi, has a passion for fitness and gardening and loves a good home construction project. He and his wife Maria of 30 years have two daughters who drop in from time to time as they complete their education and find careers. Dr. Iuorno’s passion lies in bringing people together, whether it be patients, family, or in this case, stakeholders in dentistry and finding the best balance in life.
