Nora Mahoney is the Family Law Practice Group Chair for Legal Services of Northern Virginia, supervising a team of family law attorneys and paralegals as well as externs and volunteers since 2012.
Nora serves on the Leadership Steering Committee of the Fairfax County DV Network as well as the Court Processes Workgroup for the Fairfax Council to End Domestic Violence, where she co-chairs the Victim Access subcommittee and serves on the Criminal/Civil and the PO Relief Workgroups. She also serves on the Advisory Councils for the Fairfax County Domestic Violence Action Center (DVAC), the Fairfax County Supervised Visitation/Supervised Exchange Program, and the Fairfax County Core Group to address Children and Youth Exposed to Violence and Abuse.
Prior to LSNV, she was the Domestic Violence Staff Attorney for Blue Ridge Legal Services in their Winchester office, representing and advising clients in domestic violence-related family law cases across eight jurisdictions of the northern Shenandoah Valley. Nora is a 2008 magna cum laude graduate of Tulane University School of Law, where she won the New Orleans Association of Women Attorneys award for her work in the Tulane Domestic Violence clinic. She received her B.A. in Government with a Concentration in Peace Studies magna cum laude from the University of Notre Dame in 1999.
