Jae De La Mora Ayala, B.S. Psychology, is a freelance interpreter, artist paralegal, consultant, and community advocate based in Radford, Virginia. A summa cum laude graduate of Colorado Technical University, Jae is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Advanced Education with plans to continue to law school. In their professional work, they interpret for courts, social services, Early Intervention, Head Start, medical providers, and crisis response teams, while also consulting on trauma-informed practices and equity-centered approaches across nonprofit and state initiatives. Jae serves on the Boards of Directors for both the Virginia Poverty Law Center and the Virginia Sexual and Domestic Violence Action Alliance, where they contribute to policy, training, and advocacy rooted in intersectionality and community resilience. Their previous work includes leadership within VOICES and SAVES, bilingual resource development, and collaborations to improve access to services for underserved populations. Recognized for their artistry as well as their advocacy, Jae has contributed to projects such as Monuments Across Appalachian Virginia and has spoken at statewide conferences and multidisciplinary trainings. Their outlook centers on community service, equity, and collective resilience, with the goal of building a legacy of justice and kindness for future generations.
