Maha-Rebekah Abejuela has been a Judge in the Fairfax County Juvenile & Domestic Relations District Court since July 2019. She grew up in Northern Virginia with her parents and two brothers. She graduated college from the University of Virginia in 2003, and from law school at the Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law in 2007. She started her legal career at Potomac Legal Aid Society, which later merged with the Legal Services of Northern Virginia, doing primarily family law and foreclosure assistance. She then worked at the Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney in Fairfax County, prosecuting numerous felonies and misdemeanors, and specialized in domestic violence cases. She served as an Assistant County Attorney for Fairfax County, representing the Department of Family Services in abuse and neglect cases involving both children and incapacitated adults.
