Speaker Bio
Brooke Rosen is a partner at Woods Rogers Vandeventer Black PLC, in Roanoke, Virginia. For the last decade, her practice focus has exclusively focused on complex divorce matters that often involve the intersection of family law and financial issues, including calculating income from nontraditional sources, trust interests, business valuations, and significant tracing of separate and marital financial interests in equitable distribution. Prior to shifting her focus to domestic relations matters, Brooke worked as a corporate transactional lawyer, which provides a background that informs her pragmatic, solutions-oriented approach to family law matters.
Brooke earned her Juris Doctor from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law and her Bachelor of Arts degrees in Economics and Human and Organizational Development from Vanderbilt University. She is actively involved in the Virginia State Bar and currently serves on the Family Law Section Board of Governors and previously served on the Board of Governors for the VSB's Young Lawyers Conference. She currently serves in a leadership role with Children's Trust of Roanoke Valley, a local nonprofit with a focus on preventing and treating child abuse and neglect. Her prior nonprofit board service includes serving on the Board, and as Board President, for the YMCA of Blue Ridge and CHIP of the Roanoke Valley.
She has been recognized as a “Best Lawyers in America” in family law, named to Virginia Lawyer Magazine's Pro Bono Honor List and Legal Elite, and is regularly named among the “Virginia Super Lawyers” in family law for her professional accomplishments.
