Mike served as the 86th President of the Virginia State Bar. During his one-year term that ended June 30, 2025, he supported the work of the VSB’s Entry, Growth, and Distribution of Virginia Attorneys Study Committee (EGAD VA), established by his predecessor Chidi James. As VSB Immediate Past President, Mike serves on the Bar’s Executive Committee and Council. Mike previously chaired the VSB Standing Committee on Legal Ethics. Selected as a Fellow of the Virginia Law Foundation, he serves on its CLE Committee. Mike is a nationally recognized litigator with a practice in Reston and also is a member of the Northern Neck Bar Association. Before opening his law firm, Mike was an investigative reporter and covered federal courts for The Washington Post. He was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Investigative Reporting for the Lexington (Kentucky) Herald-Leader. He is a graduate of the University of Kentucky and the University of North Carolina School of Law.
