Ms. Johnson has over 30 years of experience serving as general counsel to tax-exempt organizations. Her practice focuses on the full range of legal challenges her clients face – including tax, governance, transactions, employment, intellectual property and fundraising. Her counsel is informed by 20 years of experience as in-house counsel for the National Wildlife Federation.

A Certified Association Executive, Ms. Johnson is a frequent speaker and author on the legal and governance issues that impact tax-exempt organizations. She is a member of ASAE's Finance and Business Operations Professional Advisory Council, a past member of ASAE’s Legal Advisory Council and Innovations Grant Program Committee, Past Chair of ASAE’s Legal Section Council and Past Chair of the Virginia State Bar’s Corporate Counsel Section. She has held numerous volunteer positions with ASAE and other associations for nonprofit executives.
