Gideon Adams is the Food Bank’s Vice President for Community Health and Engagement.
Gideon spent many years in Africa and witnessed hunger in its rawest form. On moving to the USA, he was saddened and shocked by the level of food insecurity here and was moved to get involved with the fight against this insidious threat.
Previous positions include Senior Manager, Programs and Outreach at the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina and Operations Management of another of the Feeding America network food banks in the state. Prior to this he held operational and project roles in the private sector.
Among other things, he is responsible for strategic planning and implementation of partnerships and programs that will work to “shorten the lines” of those living with food insecurity and to increase access to nutrition education and information, including assistance in application for SNAP and programs that respond to Health Related Social Needs.
